INTERVENTION SOLUTION

Identification of contaminated areas and analysis of the rhizome network development.

Investigation into the probable origin of the infestation and analysis of the affected properties and landscaping.

Definition of the necessary work and establishment of an eradication method adapted to the terrain’s configuration.

Specialized expertise in running bamboo

A bamboo infestation is not limited to the shoots visible on the surface.

Rhizomes can grow under lawns, fences, terraces, paths, flower beds, garden sheds, and various structures on a property.

In some cases, the underground network can also cross property lines and affect multiple plots of land.

Identifying the extent of the contamination is therefore essential to understand the situation and determine the necessary work.

Technical expertise for insurance claims

Bambou Clean can intervene to support insurance companies, brokers, experts, and claims managers when a case involves the spread of running bamboo or other invasive plants.

TECHNICAL VISIT

TECHNICAL REPORT
Preparation, upon request, of a documented report accompanied by photographs and field observations.

JOINT EXPERT APPRAISAL
Participation in appraisals in the presence of all parties when the situation requires it.

SPREAD ANALYSIS
Identification of contaminated areas and study of the probable development of rhizomes.

TECHNICAL CONSTRAINTS
Analysis of terraces, fences, masonry, parking lots, foundations, and other affected structures.

The goal: to provide the various stakeholders with a clear, documented, and technically actionable reading of the situation.

An analysis based on field reality

The development of running bamboo can be difficult to interpret without specific experience. A shoot appearing several meters from the original clump may belong to the same rhizome network, while the presence of multiple plantings may require distinguishing between different networks.

1. Identify

The visible extent of the contamination

Location of culms, shoots, and regrowth present in the various affected areas.

2. Understand

The progression of the rhizomes

Analysis of their direction of development and the obstacles they may have bypassed or crossed.

3. Evaluate

The affected structures

Terraces, fences, walls, flower beds, parking lots, sheds, foundations, and other structures are integrated into the analysis.

4. Analyze

Interactions between properties

When a property boundary has been crossed, the situation must be studied as a whole to identify the affected areas and the risks of recontamination.

Cases that are sometimes much more complex than they appear

Running bamboo can remain relatively discreet for several years before the first shoots appear at a distance from the initial planting.

Regular mowing can also temporarily hide the presence of new shoots in a lawn, while the rhizome network continues to progress underground.

This is why a simple observation of the above-ground parts does not always allow for a correct assessment of the scale of the problem.

Our knowledge of the behavior of running bamboo allows us to provide insurance companies and experts with a complementary technical reading of the claim.

From problem analysis to the eradication solution

Each case requires a specific approach.

When the rhizomes are accessible, mechanical excavation combined with meticulous soil sorting generally allows for the direct removal of the contaminated network.

In more complex situations, particularly when the rhizomes are located under structures or in hard-to-reach areas, other methods may need to be integrated into the intervention protocol.

Our analysis doesn’t stop at the assessment: it takes into account the actual feasibility of the work required for eradication.

Technical documentation adapted to the case

At the request of the insurance company or the appointed expert, our intervention can be accompanied by technical documentation including:

📄 Field observations
📷 Photographic report
📍 Location of affected areas
🔎 Technical analysis of the situation
🛠 Recommended work
Reservations and technical constraints
Detailed estimate for the intervention

This documentation provides concrete elements to understand the claim, evaluate the necessary work, and facilitate communication between the various parties.
